| Administrative Memos > # 22: Negotiations With University Administration
| ||
NEGOTIATIONS WITH UNIVERSITY ADMINISTRATIONAt any point in time, the Libraries can be pursuing several key issues with the University administration. Many of these issues are complex, information changes quickly, and it is difficult to effectively keep all staff informed of details. Our success in these negotiations hinges upon our ability to thoroughly understand all the issues, implications and protocols involved and to set our priorities accordingly. To be effective, our negotiations must be coordinated and strategically planned. Therefore, staff are urged to exercise extreme caution when engaged in any discussions with persons on campus or in system administration concerning library issues. There is need for sensitivity not to leave potentially misleading impressions that anyone other than the Dean of Libraries or designated representatives are authorized to represent the Libraries in any negotiations concerning library issues, policies or contracts. Inquiries for information relating to such matters should be referred to the Dean of Libraries or appropriate Director. Staff who wish to see any library concerns pursued with university administration should initiate the process with library administration. ADMINISTRATIVE MEMO # 22Effective October 4, 1993supersedes none Suggested revisions to any Administrative Memo should be addressed to the Director for Planning & Administrative Services. |
