ISSUING OF KEYS1. Purpose To explain to library employees the procedure for key issue and lock changes. 2. General Information Keys and card key access are ordered from Facilities and Services by written (e-mail) request. All key orders, access to card readers and lock change requests are to be made by Directors, Department Heads or Unit Heads. 3. Processing Keys are issued approximately seven days after receipt of request. Lock changes are completed within a two-week period after work order have been submitted. A key lock change can be processed in one day on an emergency basis. 4. Types of Keys Available Master 5. Miscellaneous Desk keys, file cabinet keys, etc., can also be obtained through Facilities and Services by written request. These requests may be made directly by all library staff. 6. Lost Keys University keys which are lost should be reported immediately by telephone and/or in writing to the Facilities and Services Manager. 7. Staff members must surrender their keys at the time of their exit interview, or change of office, to the Libraries' Facilities and Services Office.
