RESTRICTED LIBRARY AREAS
Primarily for safety and security reasons, general access to certain areas of the Libraries is denied except to authorized personnel (e.g. Facilities Management), or by permission of the Dean of Libraries or the Dean's representative.
These areas include:
1. General Areas2. Information Technology Division Office
- all Mechanical Rooms;
- all Electrical Rooms;
- all Telephone Closets;
- front porches (2nd floor McKeldin and 4th floor Hornbake) and roofs.
Only authorized ITD staff may enter the computer room. All ITD office areas are restricted after 5:00 p.m. weekdays and all day Saturday and Sunday. The ITD Help Desk office is open to Libraries staff from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.3. Special Collections
Most stack areas of the departments in the Special Collections Division are closed to provide security for library materials. The public is not admitted; members of the library staff from outside the Special Collections Division are provided access in company with Special Collections staff.ADMINISTRATIVE MEMO # 6
