Nature of Work
This is professional generalist work in the human resources office involving a concentration on the recruitment activities. The position will also provide support and assistance to other functional areas of the human resources office. These functions include, but are not limited to full cycle recruitment, maintaining human resources data, hiring and termination activities, etc.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Initiates and completes the administrative process to open the search, get approvals, retrieve applications from the HR e-mailbox and forward to the search team.
- Participates in team assignments to search committees by serving as a liaison to answer questions, schedule activities, arrange travel, and stay abreast of search committee activities.
- Participates in the weekly recruitment meetings with the Head of HR and other HR team members.
- Enters information related to new hires, changes in appointments, terminations, etc. into the ARS and PHR databases.
- Creates and maintains a position description database.
- Establishes recruitment strategies that include, but are not limited to the creation of a web-based recruitment video, outreach such as mailings to other colleges and universities w/ALA-accredited Library Schools and participation in job/career fairs, and activities that promote the libraries.
- Assists with the oversight of contracts for non-exempt, exempt, and faculty contracts; processes graduate assistant overloads.
- Monitors the probationary process for new hires.
- Tracks all recruitment activity from the point of LEC approval to the point of candidate acceptance.
- Maintains an activity log and submits report, electronically, each week.
- Assists in the exit interview process.
- Assists with special project assignments.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands:There will be extensive work on the computer.

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
Education:
Required - Bachelor's degree.
Required - Bachelor's degree in human resources
Experience:
Required - A minimum of 3 years of human resources experience, and intermediate knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Preferred - PHR certification, experience with a human resources database system. Experience in a human resources office in a higher education environment.
