The University of Maryland Libraries’ Office of Human Resources provides quality customer service and support at the College Park campus in the following human resources activities: benefits, employment, employee relations, performance management, salary administration, service awards and staff recognition, and staff development. Working under the direction of the Head of Human Resources, and within a team-based learning environment, this is an opportunity for a service-oriented individual to join this team. Responsibilities:
This is professional human resources generalist position involving a concentration on recruitment and retention activities. The position provides support and assistance to other functional areas of the human resources office, including, but are not limited to full cycle recruitment, maintaining human resources data, hiring and termination activities, etc. The position also interprets human resources policies and procedures (e.g. ADA, FMLA, FLSA, etc.) and ensures compliance with state and federal regulations.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of three years of human resources experience, and intermediate knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, PHR certification, experience with a human resources database system, and experience in a human resources office in a higher education environment.
