Peer Recongition Award

Nedelina Tchangalova, Engineering and Physical Sciences Library

In recognition of your exemplary work and initiative both within the Engineering and Physical Sciences Library and in the UM Libraries as a whole. You have tirelessly and successfully promoted the Libraries' services and resources, co-founded the New Librarians Network to help guide librarians starting their careers in the UM Libraries, and creatively developed solutions for staffing and budgetary shortfalls in EPSL Reference Services. Your professionalism, dedication and leadership have set a new standard of excellence in the Libraries, and your efforts are greatly appreciated by your colleagues.

Special Projects Award

Otis Chadley, Social Sciences Team

In appreciation of your initiative in creating annotated reading lists for each of the lectures in the Provost’s Conversations on Diversity, Democracy and Higher Education series. These lists have supported both the diversity efforts and the intellectual furtherance of our faculty, staff, and students. Despite the recent increase in the number of programs per semester (now occurring roughly once per week), Mr. Chadley’s selections have been consistently inspired.

Special Projects Award

Conservation Lab Team: Dun-Yee Wong, Susan Graham, Rebecca Goldberg, Jessica Lavin, and Stephanie Schmitz

In appreciation of your dedication, collaboration and creativity in increasing the productivity and efficiency of the Conservation Lab. Working without a team leader you have increased productivity by 37% and eliminated a large backlog of materials while at the same time maintaining extremely high standards for treatments and repairs. By working together and building on one another’s strengths, you have created a work environment that has a positive impact on both library users and staff.

Special Projects Award

Humanities Team: Tim Hackman, Pat Heron, Eric Lindquist, Yelena Luckert, Alan Mattlage, Heleni Pedersoli

In appreciation of your enthusiasm and dedication to the University of Maryland Libraries.
