WINNERS OF THE THIRD ANNUAL OUTSTANDING STUDENT EMPLOYEE AWARDS

 

On May 16, 2001, at the Libraries Spring social held in the Special Events Room of McKeldin Library, Dean Lowry and the Awards Committee took the opportunity to present certificates to four student employees for the Third Annual Outstanding Employee Awards. Each recipient will receive a cash gift of $150.00.

The following is an account of the contributions of our four outstanding winners.

 

Justina Efobi, End Processing Unit, Catalog Management, Technical Services Division

 

In recognition of Justina's conscientious and diligent work in the End Processing Unit of the Technical Services Department. Through Justina's energy and determination, she consistently produced high quality work within a short period of time. Justina's friendly and outgoing personality, professionalism, and positive attitude makes her a valuable asset to the Technical Services Division.

 

 

Christopher Rotondo, Marylandia and Rare Books, Collection Management and Special Collections Division

 

Christopher was awarded for his conscientious and dedicated work in the Marylandia and Rare Books Department. His participation in moving the Maryland Room collections to Hornbake Library, his willingness to help above and beyond the call of duty, and his pleasant, agreeable attitude have made him an invaluable asset to the department and to the libraries.

 

 

Sarah Stoudt, Catalog Management, Technical Services Division

 

Sarah was recognized for her excellent work in Catalog Management. Sarah shared her in-depth knowledge through mentoring, training and supervising other student assistants, and has participated in extra-curricular activities to promote and further the Libraries' mission. Sarah's outstanding and professional approach has made her an invaluable asset to the department and to the Libraries.

 

 

Kristian Twombly, Special Collections, Performing Arts Library, Public Services Division

 

Kristian is recognized for his diligent and dedicated work with the American Composers Alliance score collection housed in Special Collections in the Performing Arts Library. Kristian devised an efficient method of handling orders from the New York office of ACA and created a manual of operation for dealing with the collection. Kristian is a standard-setter for the other student employees in SCPA, and inspires their confidence and admiration.
