UM Libraries Annual Report FY 1998

This report is dedicated to the memory of Hisayo Murakami, the former Manager of the Gordon W. Prange Collection, who passed away on June 10, 1997. It was under Mrs. Murakami's tireless guidance and direction that major steps were instituted to preserve this precious and extremely rare collection which represents virtually everything published in Japan on all subjects during the first four years of the Allied Occupation between 1945-1949.

Friends and associates of Mrs. Murakami can best remember her and her legacy by supporting the Hisayo Murakami Memorail Endowment Fund established at the University of Maryland Libraries.
