A Much Improved Library System
A new version of the public access catalog was released in July containing significant enhancements for patrons including personal information, subject indexes, and a name browse index. Information Technology staff successfully reconciled the customized University of Maryland character-based public access catalog (PAC) with the standard release of CARL Corporation PAC software to bring this about. In addition, as the year ended, efforts to insure that the system is Year 2000 (Y2K) compliant were on schedule.
