Library Matters

Library Matters is the University of Maryland Libraries staff blog, designed:

• To promote awareness of events and developments both inside and outside the Libraries that are of general and/or professional interest to staff;
• To publicize staff achievements and accomplishments;
• To foster a sense of community among staff; and
• To facilitate effective communication among staff.

PARTICIPATION

There are many ways to participate in the Library Matters Blog. You can read the blog on a regular basis, submit posts, comment on others' posts and subscribe to the blog's RSS feed to be notified when new content is posted. Here are a few things to help get you started:

THE EDITORIAL BOARD

The Library Executive Council appoints an editorial board for Library Matters consisting of one representative from each division and one representative from branch libraries. Each representative serves a two-year term, which may be extended with the approval of the division director. The board members mutually rotate among themselves the responsibility for reviewing content submitted to the blog and posting it in a timely manner.

REVIEW PROCESS

• Members of the Library Matters editorial board will review posts before they're posted to the blog. The review process serves as a quick check for accuracy.
• The board reserves the right to reject any material deemed inappropriate or offensive.
