Joanne Archer named project archivist
for the University of Maryland Libraries, College Park
 

Joanne Archer has a new library faculty appointment as a project archivist in the University of Maryland Libraries. She works with the Library Collection for the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

Ms. Archer has a Masters of Library Science and a Masters of Arts in History, both from the University of Maryland, College Park. Since 2001 she has been a member of a multidisciplinary research team to improve access to large multilingual collections of recorded speech through natural language processing.
