Henson Exhibit at University of Maryland Opens
as Statue of Puppeteer Is Unveiled on Campus

The Jim Henson Legacy and the University of Maryland Libraries are presenting through December 19th “Jim Henson’s Designs & Doodles,” a selection of original sketches,
designs and puppets spanning the career of the Muppets creator. The exhibit, located in Hornbake Library, is accompanied by on-demand video offerings including interviews with Henson and highlights from his career.

The exhibit ties in with Maryland’s graduating classes of 1994, 1998 and 1999 giving a special gift to their  university – a statue of beloved alumnus Jim Henson and his wonderful Kermit along with a garden for  them to sit in. The dedication of the Jim Henson sculpture, outside of Stamp Student Union, took place on September 24th. The gallery is open Monday – Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday from  noon  to 5 p.m.
