Exit/Stairwell Doors (Unauthorized Use)

This applies to the exit/stairwell doors that are alarmed in the McKeldin Library. An Annunicator panel located inside the eat-in study lounge indicates the location of the exit doors. 

1. If the exit/stairwell door is opened, go to the annunciator panel to find the flashing light which corresponds to the opened door. Note the location of the door.
2. Turn off the switch for that door and then turn it back on.
3. Push the red reset button. This will reactivate the system.
4. Record incident in the Log Book.

 Note:   If a patron pushes on the panic bar on one of the alarmed exit/stairwell doors, the 
            door will open after pushing for 30 seconds.
