SYSTEM ALERT

The Course Reserves system is running normally. The recent upgrade resolved an issue that some users were experiencing when accessing PDFs using Firefox and Safari.

If your class had a "Course Reserves" link on the left side of your ELMS course space, it may have been inadvertently removed during the upgrade. You can still access reserves through the "Course Tools" menu. Instructors, TAs and Course Builders can manually add the link back to the main course menu by following the instructions in the Training Handout.

Updated: November 5, 2009

The University of Maryland Libraries course reserves system is accessible through the University's ELMS course management system (powered by Blackboard). The system provides improved service and facilitates better communication between faculty and reserves staff. Benefits of the system include:
Integration with ELMS, allowing "one stop shopping" for all course materials

ELMS authentication, eliminating the need for course-specific passwords

Online tracking of requests, allowing faculty to monitor the status of reserve items and receive email alerts when new items are available

Optional direct faculty file uploads (pending a brief copyright review by reserves staff) for faster turnaround times

To read more about the system, consult our Fact Sheet or contact your library branch's Reserves Staff with questions.
