Updating Your Contact Information
Haven’t received email notices or mailed
correspondence from the University of Maryland Libraries? Verify and
update your contact information with the instructions below.
The contact information that the Libraries have on record for you can
be seen when you log into My Account
– your online library account. Go to the Libraries’ home page at http://www.lib.umd.edu and click the my account
link. Sign in with the 14-digit barcode from your university ID card
and last name. Your mailing address and email address will appear on
the first page. To update that information you need to do BOTH of the
following
I. Contact a Library circulation desk to update your information in our
system (UM Libraries
Circulation Contacts)
AND
II. Change your information with your campus’s Registrar and/or Human
Resources. For example, UMCP students, faculty and staff should use
either Testudo or Ares to change their official
contact information (see below).
If you
are a UMCP student:
1. Go to the Registrar’s page on Testudo*: http://www.testudo.umd.edu/Registrar.html
2. Click on Change
Address/E-mail
3. Sign in with your Directory ID and password
4. Update your email address
5. Update your permanent and local addresses (if both
are filled in, the local address will receive mail from the Libraries)
6. Click Update Address Information and log out of
Testudo
*TIP: If you misplace your 14-digit barcode number (that allows you to
log into My Account and
Research Port), you can select
the
View Your
Student ID Barcode link
in Testudo to retrieve it.
If you are a UMCP
faculty or staff member:
1. Go to the ARES
home page at http://www.ares.umd.edu
2. Click on the email
address link at the top right
to update your email and other contact information
3. Sign in with your Directory ID and password
4. Update your email address
5. Update your permanent and office addresses (if
both are filled in, the office address will receive mail from the
Libraries)
6. Click Update and go back to ARES and log out
NOTE: UMCP alumni and special borrowers need only
to update their information at a UM Library circulation desk
