Printing from Your Mac (10.5 Leopard and 10.6 Snow Leopard) Computer to a Library Printer
Scope: This guide explains how to use the UM
Libraries' print system to print jobs sent from non-library computers
running the Macintosh operating system 10.5 Leopard to library
printers. This service allows students, faculty, and staff to send
print jobs from anywhere on the campus network: laptops (wireless too),
department/office computers, dorm room computers, etc.
OFF CAMPUS?? You need to set up a VPN (Virtual Private Networking)
before you can utilize this service.

Overview -- First Time Users
After downloading the appropriate software (once only) and
configuring your system, you send your print job to the Libraries'
print system where it sits in a queue. Within 4 hours, you go to a
library print station, swipe one of the cards mentioned below, identify
and select your job from the queue, and print it out.
You must print out the job within 4 hours of sending it to the printer
or it will be dropped from the print queue.

PRINTING
- Preview your print job (the page/s you want to send to the printer)
. This is important, as the Libraries do not offer refunds on print
jobs.
- Select "Print" from your browser or other software to send
print job(s) to the print queue. NOTE: You do not need to select a
pickup location. You will be able to print out your job at any of the
Libraries' print stations. For library locations, see map of Library
Locations and Library Printers.
- Select printer. Select either LibrariesBW or
LibrariesColor.
- Enter a name or title for your print job. Enter your name
in the "Pharos Popup" window. Click "Continue". This will help you
identify your print job (and distinguish it from those of other
students)
when you go to retrieve your print job from the print station.
- Click Print. Do not type anything into the box that appears on this screen.
- NOTE: You may send multiple print jobs to the queue prior to printing. Print jobs will remain in the print queue for 4 hours.
