Present: Julie Arnold, Gloria Chawla, Bonnie Chojnacki, Bob Kackley, Neal Kaske, Alesia McManus, Jim Miller, Beth Roberts, Sylvia O’Brien
Future Meetings: The team decided to meet the 2nd Tuesday of every month, and to alternate meetings between EPSL and McKeldin. The team also agreed to rotate the roles of facilitator and note taker, though Julie will send out the agenda. Julie will come up with a meeting roles calendar.
Topic: Report from CMT and discussion
Julie reported on CMT activities. There will be a new electronic MRF that Jan Siar will be sending out to library staff. The old MRF will be phased out. Julie reported that Karla has been meeting with the PR team to discuss ways of publicizing the move to electronic only for some publishers’ serial titles. The team discussed the Elsevier negotiations and feedback from faculty on electronic only subscriptions. Concerns over access to the health sciences collection were expressed, as well as concerns over ILL of these items.
Topic: Big Ticket Process
Julie reported that CMT discussed the “big ticket” process and asked for feedback from the team. For more information, Julie will invite Karla to the January meeting. Several titles were discussed for possible inclusion in the list.
Round Robin: Alesia McManus has been invited to participate in the 2004CONSER Summit on Serials in the Digital Environment to be held March18-19 in Alexandria, VA. CONSER is the Cooperative Online SerialsProgram.
