Author Collections
One important subject area within our rare book library includes our collection of books of famous authors and poets. These collections include not only books written by these authors, but also biographies, criticism and books annotated by the authors.
You can explore these collections by browsing the inventory lists (when available) or by searching the library's online catalog.
- The Robert Frost Collection
- A comprehensive collection of books by and about Robert Frost containing many works annotated by Frost
- The Katherine Anne Porter Library
- The collection contains Porter's personal library, numbering nearly 4,000 titles.
- The Djuna Barnes Library
- The personal library of Barnes, an author of fiction, poetry and plays, contains nearly 1,200 titles.
- The Louisa May Alcott Collection
- The collection of this celebrated author includes more than 300 books by and about Louisa May Alcott.
- The Arthur J. Gutman Collection of Menckeniana
- A collection of books clippings, letters, manuscripts, periodicals, pamphlets and photographs related to H.L. Mencken and the Mencken Society.
