Planning a Visit?
The Marylandia and Rare Books Department is located in Hornbake Library, on the campus of the University of Maryland. It is open to the public Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m and Saturday from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Access to the collections of this department is through the Maryland Room on the first floor of Hornbake Library. All materials are non-circulating. Visitors to the Maryland Room must lock their bags, purses, etc. in one of the lockers provided, and sign in when entering the room. To obtain materials, materials request forms must be completed and returned to the front desk. A student retrieves the materials and brings them to the researcher. There is a limit of three requests at one time, and no requests are accepted after 4:45 p.m.
