Please do not remove floppy disks from the Lost and Found box and give them to users who simply need floppies. Disks are sold at the McKeldin Copy Shop. Lost and Found materials are not simply give aways! Behavior at the Desk. We had a lively discussion about a reported incident of a McKeldin Info Desk librarian who knowingly fabricated an erroneous answer for a telephone user’s question. The user later called to complain about the misinformation. Not only does this behavior reflect badly on all of us who work that desk, it reflects badly on the Libraries. Such an action was unethical. SIRS suggests that all of us look at the ALA Code of Ethics: http://www.ala.org/Content/NavigationMenu/Our_Association/Offices/Intellectual_Freedom3/Statements_and_Policies/Code_of_Ethics/Code_of_Ethics.htm Subject team representatives agreed to report on this incident and SIRS discussion with their teams.
