Minutes of meeting
April 28, 1999

Present:  Bernardo,  Edwards, Laguerre,  Linquist, Mauro,
McManus, Spohn, Stephany, Todd,  M.Vikor, Winker
Absent:   Bunn

1.     How to Find?   Eric asked that we look at the How to Find?
Guides from the Library's homepage.  Desk staff are aware of
these guides and use them.  We agreed that it would be a good
idea to make sure that desk students are also aware of and know
how to use them.  The group suggested that the link be more conspicuous,
that an index to those guides might enhance their value, and that the
"Miscellaneous" category be rethought.  Eric invited the group to send him other ideas.

2. Service Plus Page.  Steve gave a demo of the Service Plus page.
"Assignment Alerts" archive. Steve agreed to add a date to
the Assignment Alerts, to create an Assignment Alerts
archive, to look for and add the CIRLA consortium, to
change "SSU" to read Stamp Student Union (it looks like to
Salisbury State University), and to create a statement of
purpose for the page.  Steve is designing a training
session for students, staff, and rovers.   Cindy and Sonia
are helping to maintain the bulletin boards.

3. Round Robin.  EL and DM asked for SIRS reflector address so
that they can send information from their teams to SIRS.
(address has been sent and tested-ct)
        MV asked when Spring semester roving to stop….May
14, 1999(rovers were notified: ct).  MV will update the
rover list to indicate departing rovers.
        SB  announced that exam week we'll be open to midnite.
        AM described a referral to EPSL for a straightforward
title look-up.  This should not have happened.
        CT asked for and received comments on the Pay-for-Print poster.

Student Training .  Report on what is going on.

Quick Reference/Ready Reference. (Alesia).  Discussion on history of the two collections.

Communicating at the desk. (Cindy).  Discussion

Reference Reserves.  (Cindy).  Seeking volunteers to write procedure

New Telephone Tree/troubleshooting guidelines. (Cindy).  Report.
