Avoiding Disasters

Many disasters can be avoided, thus saving our collection materials from needless damage. Please remember the following:

• Keep food and drink away from collection materials to avoid spills.
• Report any leaks or drips immediately to facilities. Call the Salvage Squad if the water is affecting or will affect library collections.
• Never store collections directly on the floor. Instead, use a pallet.

• Finally, follow Disaster Plan procedures! Most library materials can be saved if they are caught in time.
