Packing Books

When preparing library materials for shipment, make sure they are protected during transport by packing properly. Always pack books standing upright, flat, or with their spine down, supported by the bottom of the box. Fill in any empty spaces in the box with packing material such as paper or bubble wrap.


Steps in Packing a Box

Pack the books standing upright, lying flat or lying with their spines down towards the bottom of the box.

Fill in the gaps with packing materials.

Make sure the box is completely filled, and the books are completely secure, by adding more paper. Seal the box.
