Wet Books

If a book is wet, it should be sent to the Preservation Department immediately for drying. If a book dries on its own, it may begin to grow mold or the pages may warp and stick together, like this book.

If it is after regular business hours and the Preservation Department is closed, follow the procedures outlined in the document Preservation Guidelines for Handling Wet and Moldy Books. This document is linked from the Preservation Department home page.
