Preservation Committee Meeting

PRESERVATION COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES

May 18, 1999

Present: Mary Scott, Karla Hahn, Ethel Hellman, Beth Alvarez, Gloria Chawla (Recording)

Announcements: Lauren Brown sent the committee a memo regarding the proposed Audio-Visual Preservation Facility. He asked for the committee to support the project, and noted that the committee will probably be involved in the planning process.

M. Scott presented the following proposed projects to the committee, and they were ranked as follows:

Circulating Music: Use 3, Condition 2, Value 2.5, Donor issues 2, and Total Score: 9.5

Performing Arts, Rare Books: Use 3, Condition 3, Value 3, Donor issues 2, and Total Score: 11

Lowell Mason: Use 3, Condition 2.5, Value 3, Donor issues 2, and Total Score: 10.5

Tunebooks: Use 2, Condition 2.5, Value 2, Donor issues 2, and Total Score: 8.5

IPAM Scores: Use 3, Condition 1.5, Value 3, Donor issues 2, and Total Score: 9.5

IPAM Audio: Use 3, Condition 3, Value 3, Donor issues 2, and Total Score:11

Hambourg Scrapbooks: Use 2, Condition 3, Value 2, Donor issues 2, and Total Score: 9

Munz Scrapbooks: Use 2, Condition 3, Value 2.5, Donor issues 2, and Total Score: 9.5

Anderson Scrapbooks: Use 2, Condition 1.5, Value 3, Donor issues 3, and Total Score: 9.5

The committee then divided all the projects into budget categories. The committee also decided that it would be wise to add the following question to next year's form: "What action would you like to take?"
