Preservation Committee Meeting Minutes

Present: Alvarez, Carignan, Chawla, K. Hahn, Koutsky, Mattlage

  1. Topic: Update on Conservator, Production Manager, Bindery Searches

    2. Interview dates for the Conservator candidates have been scheduled.
    The search committee for the production manager has begun meeting.
    The bindery unit head search committee has made a recommendation for selection.

  2. Topic: Disaster Team Charge

    3. The committee reviewed the charge, discussed the group's name, membership and rotation.
    Outcomes: Carignan will make minor revisions and forward the proposed charge for LEC review.

  3. Topic: Tour of Wert Bookbindery

    4. A tour of this bindery will be scheduled for later in the month. While we are not currently working with them, they are participating in the current RFP process.

  4. Topic: rank new preservation priorities for FY01

    5. Only new preservation priorities were ranked. Existing priorities will be carried over.

  5. Topic: Evaluation of priority setting process

    6. The group discussed the optimal requency of revision and how best to engage collection managers in the process.
    Outcomes: The priority list will be posted on the Web so collection managers can review it as needed. Prioritization will be initiated annually in March for the upcoming fiscal year.
