b. Obtain posters to promote preservation throughout the libraries. (Yvonne has ordered some.)
5. EMERGENCY RESPONSE AND SALVAGE WHEEL. Yvonne passed around the new wheel which was introduced at ALA this summer. The committee asked that it be purchased for branches and Disaster Salvage Team members.
6. MASS DEACIDIFICATION PROJECT. The committee recommended that literature ("Ps") be selected as a first project in the general collections for a trial deacidification project. (Betty Day has been consulted and concurs that the "Ps" are a good choice. She recommends that we work through them from beginning to end.)
7. ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES. The committee directed Yvonne to write a letter to the Dean of Libraries on their behalf to express their concern for establishing proper environmental conditions both at Hornbake and at McKeldin Libraries. Yvonne will forward the letter to the committee for review before posting it to the Dean.
