Media Descriptors to be Used in Item Records for Accompanying Material

The terms used for print accompaniments are not from a prescribed list as are the terms for non-print. AACR says to use the term in the physical description that is on the piece. Use the term in the item record that is being used in the physical description.
Note: From 1989 to 2004, descriptors were part of the base call number which means separate holdings records for each call number variation were created during the data conversion from CARL to Aleph. Do not systematically correct these records.
