GENRE AND SUBJECT HEADINGS USED FOR FEATURE FILMS & TELEVISION PROGRAMS IN COLLEGE PARK’S CATALOGAll dramatic/fictional narrative films have one of two subject headings:
Feature films (if 40 minutes or longer). [Call number will be PN1997.A2-Z, for films produced in 2000 of earlier, or PN1997.2.A2-Z for films produced 2001-. For collections of feature or short films the call number will be PN1997.A1A-Z.] All televised dramatic/fictional narrative works will have at least of these:
Made-for-TV movies. [Call numbers will be PN1992.8.F5A-Z]
They may also have additional genre heading(s):[Call number will be PN1997.A2-Z, for films produced in 2000 of earlier, or PN1997.2.A2-Z for filmsproduced 2001-. For collections of feature or short films the call number will be PN1997.A1A-Z. Exceptions are noted below.]
Adventure films. Police films. Populist films. Prison films. Puppet films. Puppet television programs. [Call number will be one of the Television call numbers from above.] Race films. Religious films. Road films. Rock films. Romantic comedy films. Samurai films. Science fiction films. Science fiction television programs. [Call number will be one of the Television call numbers from above.] Screwball comedy films. Silent films. Slasher films. Spaghetti Westerns. Sport films. Spy films. Swashbuckler films. Superhero films. Television musicals. [Call number will be one of the Television call numbers from above.] Thrillers (Motion pictures, television, etc.) War films. War television programs. [Call number will be one of the Television call numbers from above.] Werewolf films. Western films. Western television programs. [Call number will be one of the Television call numbers from above.] Vampire films. Video recordings for people with visual disabilities. Video recordings for the hearing impaired.
They may also have a heading for a specific character or concept:[Call number will be PN1997.A2-Z, for films produced in 2000 of earlier, or PN1997.2.A2-Z for filmsproduced 2001-. For collections of feature or short films the call number will be PN1997.A1A-Z.

They may also have subject heading(s) qualified by “Drama,” although this practice was only implemented circa 2002:[Call number will be one of the Television or Film call numbers from above.]
