The main items of discussion were performance assessment of librarians involved in instruction, and a survey to collect opinions and experiences of subject team members in regard to general classes.

After some brainstorming on assessment of presentation and teaching skills, the group drafted an assessment instrument that Trudi (and perhaps others) could use in helping instruction librarians to become more award of their teaching strengths and weaknesses. The goals of an assessment activity would be:

1) to help librarians improve their presentation performance, teaching skills, and personal confidence;
2) to increase the level of leraning and skill building on the part of students;
3) to improve the overall quality of the Libraries' instruction efforts.

Attached is the most recent draft of the assessment instrument, which will be discussed in an all-teams meeting January 14 (announcement of meeting is forthcoming).

The second item of discussion was the content of a survey to be distributed to the subject team members about their experiences and personal reactions to the fall instruction program, especially in regard to teaching When is Your Paper Due?, Academic Universe, and Tangled in the Web?. The survey will be distributed to the teams via e-mail and the results will be shared and discussed at the January all-teams meeting.

P.S. from TBH: Some staff may have difficulty reading the attachment. If you would like to recieve a copy of the draft on paper, please let me know. I will be bringing paper copies to the meeting January 14.
