1. Updates
The new EDCP108 exercise is being tried out in the AAP classes this summer. (AAP is for conditionally admitted students). One of the major purposes of the exercise (unlike VictorWeb) is to get students to actually use the library.
Trudi talked about her presentation of the new exercise to the EDCP faculty, particularly on how to use it effectively.
Two English 101 positions are being filled. One is a library staff person to replace Steve and the second is a special lecturer funded by a grant--for a graduate student in the humanities who will conduct many of the ENGL 101 library day sessions.
Summer classes--VictorWeb attendance was weak (typical for the summer). The When is your Paper Due? classes used a new 6-step script. One hour appears to be sufficient for these classes. The faculty/graduate seminars (Pro-Cite, SCI, SSCI) were all well attended. A third ProCite seminar had to be scheduled to accommodate the overflow.
2. Fall Schedule
The schedules for Victor, GIS, and Basics & Beyond (When is your Paper Due?) are being worked out. There will be NO Academic Universe classes. Several popular seminars (e.g. Pro-Cite, SCI, SSCI, News on the Web) will be repeated. Other possible seminars will depend on feedback from faculty, team members, and other librarians.
3. Goals/Plans for 1999-2000
By this point we had run out of time. This topic will be discussed at the next meeting.
