What is EndNote Web? Why use it? Who can use it?
EndNote Web is the web-based version of the citation management software EndNote. Citation management software can help you keep track of references you have downloaded from databases, journals, or web sites. EndNote Web makes your work on writing research papers, thesis, dissertation, journal article, publication list, or course reserve list much more efficient. The software extracts bibliographic information (e.g., author, title, date) from article databases, library catalogs, and web pages, and stores that information in one convenient location—your own EndNote Web Library. This allows you to organize your references to create bibliographies or lists of references and easily format them in a variety of citation styles.
Access to EndNote Web is available free of charge to University of Maryland students, faculty, and staff. First-time users will need to create an account at www.myendnoteweb.com. You can also create an account through the Web of Science database in Research Port. Click on the "My EndNote Web" link at the top of the page to register.
Register for this workshop. If you are a first time EndNote Web user, set up an account before attending a workshop. Click on the link "Sign Up" at the top of the login page to create an account.
To prepare in advance, review the handout [PDF], view the online tutorials, and take note of the frequently asked questions available from EndNote.
