Late Night Study in McKeldin Library
What is this service?
During most of the fall and spring semester, McKeldin Library is open overnight for study to holders of valid UMD IDs, University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) IDs, UMUC late night study cards, or CIC IDs. Our goal is to provide a safe and quiet study space for our students. All users are expected to comply with the Libraries' Code of Conduct for Library Users.
You must show your UMD or UMB faculty/staff/student ID, UMUC late night study card with acceptable photo ID, or CIC faculty/student card with acceptable photo ID to remain in the building after 11pm during Late Night Study. UMD alumni and Community Borrowers are not eligible for this service.
During Late Night, the McKeldin Circulation is open. Other library services are closed.
The eat-in lounge is open during Late Night, but the cafe is closed. Library users may bring food and drinks into McKeldin. Some restrictions apply. Please look on the 'Food and Drink' section of the Code of Conduct page for full details.
What are the hours of the service?
In general, the service hours are 11 pm to 8 am Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday with expanded hours near finals. Users must check the Libraries' hours on the website.
