This print, from a set of 25 photogravures of drawings, depicts the Women's Building at the World's Columbian Exposition held in Chicago in 1893.
Sophia G. Hayden served as architect for the Women's Building, which measured 199 by 388 feet. The Women's Building was located on the Lagoon along with several buildings designed by Chicago architects, including the Transportation Building (Adler and Sullivan), the Horticulture Building (Jenney and Mundie), and the Fisheries Building (Henry Ives Cobb).
