Announcement: WAPAVA Collection
March 4th, 2010
Great News!
The Michelle Smith Performing Arts Library is happy to announce the extension of viewing hours for the Washington Area Performing Arts Video Archive (WAPAVA) materials. The WAPAVA dvd and video collection is now available for use ANY TIME during regular library hours. And along with these new hours, we have new viewing procedures.
To view a WAPAVA video:
- Bring the video’s call number and your UM ID to the PAL front desk.
- Front desk staff will retrieve the video, check it out to your library account, and set you up at one of the new TVs to watch it. (We have three new TVs in PAL, by the way!)
- Viewers will also be asked to sign a Use Agreement Form. We will ask viewers to sign the form each time they use the WAPAVA Collection.
The WAPAVA Collection is a Special Collection and requires special procedures for use. However, we want to balance the library’s need to protect copyright with the needs of you, our users. We are very excited about expanding WAPAVA availability and hope you will welcome the change too!
Please feel free to contact contact us with any questions.
(And come watch some WAPAVA!)
