More content added to Theatre in Video (database)

More content has been added to Alexander Street Press’s Theatre in Video (available through Research Port). There are now 360 videos totaling 433 hours.

The latest update includes 36 new films from the Broadway Theatre Archive, as well as 5 productions from Bullfrog Films, 4 from Insight Media, and 1 from the BBC.

Performances here include works by Shakespeare, Tennessee Williams, Wendy Wasserstein, John Cheever, Maxwell Anderson, Lanford Wilson, Terrence McNally, Jean Cocteau, D.H. Lawrence, Conor McPherson, and Clifford Odets, among others.

Featured actors include Frank Langella, Kim Stanley, Blythe Danner, Richard Jenkins, Moses Gunn, Geraldine Fitzgerald, Jeff Bridges, Charles Durning, Brian Dennehy, Carol Kane, Ingrid Bergman, Dustin Hoffman, Susan Sarandon, Stephen Sondheim, Brian Cox, Sigourney Weaver, Eli Wallach, Samuel L. Jackson, Sissy Spacek, Diane Wiest, Robert Prosky, and William Hurt.

There are also interviews with important figures in the development of Black Theatre, such as Ossie Davis, Joseph Papp, Lloyd Richards, Douglas Turner Ward, Amiri Baraka, and Derek Walcott.
