Welcome to the brand new PAL news blog. This blog is administered by the Steve Henry, Music Librarian, and Judy Markowitz, Theatre and Dance Librarian, of the Michelle Smith Performing Arts Library, University of Maryland-College Park. Here you will find timely information relating to PAL, such as notification of new acquisitions, new policies, upcoming events and so forth. We will also occasionally post news items affecting the world of performing arts libraries as a whole.
Viewers are invited to register and leave comments (which are moderated). We don’t anticipate this being a space for debates and ranting, but suggestions, clarifications, corrections, and additions are always welcomed.
The information recorded here will also be distributed through other channels (email, signage, etc.). In other words, you won’t have to constantly check the blog to know what is happening at the library (although an RSS feed is available for those who prefer to receive information that way). Rather, the blog will simply gather news flashes together in one convenient place.
We hope you find this blog useful and perhaps even entertaining. Please let us know if you have any comments or suggestions for future posts.
