Trip to the Library of Congress? Yes please.

Hey everyone!
The University of Maryland librarians have graciously coordinated a tour of the Library of Congress. The tour will focus on researching at the library and it is aimed toward graduate students but it is also open to faculty and staff.
Abby Yochalson, a Library of Congress humanities reference librarian will head the tour and will explain how to begin research at the library and acquire a Reader ID. There will also be tour of the main reading room and an explanation of the various resources the Library of Congress can offer you!
The tour starts in the Lobby of the Jefferson Building which is accessible by car, bus, or metro. Directions can be found at http://www.loc.gov/visit/directions/
Tour dates are:
Thursday, October 18th from 1pm - 3pm
Friday, October 19th from 10am - 12 Noon
RSVP REQUIRED BY OCTOBER 12th
To RSVP, send an email to Pat Herron (herron@umd.edu) with your full name, preferred email address, department, research interests, and which tour you want to attend.
If you want to get a Reader ID the day of, you will have to bring a valid driver’s license, state issued ID, or passport. Make sure you also preregister at http://www.loc.gov/rr/readerregistration.html
