Announcement Concerning Computers in MSPAL

January 14th, 2010 by Leahkim

As you walk through the Michelle Smith Performing Arts Library this spring, you may notice that there are fewer public computers on the carrels.

Based on a brief study of public computer use in all of the University of Maryland Libraries during Fall Semester 2009, the Dean of Libraries and the Director of Public Services decided to move 24 computers from MSPAL to McKeldin. This will leave 33 computers for public use – a number that should prove adequate to meet normal day-to-day demands in the library.  All of the carrels will also remain, opening up space for laptop users and those who seek quiet study space.

Please feel free contact us with any comments or concerns you may have in this matter - in person, by phone or email, or by leaving comments in the suggestion box at the desk. We are very interested to know how this change in service affects our users.
