The Legacy Bookplate Program at the University of Maryland Libraries recognizes donor support in building collections that promote the research and scholarship mission of the University.
The University Libraries help every student achieve academic success. From state of the art technologies, to targeted instruction and outreach – the libraries are at the heart of the University of Maryland. Please consider supporting us and creating a lasting legacy with a donation to the Legacy Bookplate Program.
Legacy bookplates are digital bookplates housed at the University of Maryland. Like traditional bookplates, they tie your support to a particular book. Unlike a traditional bookplate, you can access the bookplate from anywhere with an internet connection. Once a gift or an endowment is fulfilled through the program, the Library is able to add materials to our collection and the donor's bookplate is linked in the online catalog to each new purchase made with the funds of the gift. Digital bookplates are a lovely way to honor a donors' interests, achievements, or memories of their colleagues, mentors, parents, grandparents, graduates, advisors, and professors. They are easy to share with friends and family and they provide a lasting remembrance of important milestones.
To create your own digital bookplate, fill out our online form or print and mail in our digital bookplate donor form.
