This collection includes the full run of Orígenes. Revista de Arte y Literatura, from the first issue in the spring of 1944 to the 40th, and the last, which appeared in 1956. Edited by José Lezama Lima and José Rodríguez Feo, Mexican writer Octavio Paz described Orígenes as the most important Spanish-language periodical of its time. The journal focused primarily on poetry, and took its place among other key literary journals such as Contemporáneos, Sur, and Revista de Occidente.
