Gretchen Gueguen teaches digitization workshop at Mid-Atlantic Regional Archivists Conference

Gretchen Gueguen taught a day-long workshop on digitization best practices and workflows at the Mid-Atlantic Regional Archivists Conference (MARAC) in Williamsburg, Virginia on November 1, 2007. Organized by Gueguen, Ann Hanlon, and Liz McAllister, the workshop also included an afternoon panel on workflows at three other institutions. Presenters were Bradley Daigle from the University of Virginia, Nadia Nasr from the Enoch Pratt Free Library, and Karen Weiss from the Archives of American Art.

Kate Murray Presents at Society of Georgia Archivists Annual Meeting

Kate Murray participates in a panel discussion on best practices for digitizing archival material. Kate will discuss UM’s “Best Practices for Digital Collections at UM Libraries” as well as emerging trends for audiovisual collections such as Motion JPEG2000. The presentation also briefly discusses UM’s new tool for prioritizing digital projects and their anticipated preservation needs.
