Caesarea a jewel in Herod's crown
Visits the remains of Caesarea, where students from the University of Maryland at College Park and other U.S. universities participate in an archaeological excavation. King Herod built Caesarea between 22 and 10 B.C. in order to secure his position within the Roman Empire, naming it after Caesar Augustus.
