Collections Subcommittee - Transfers, Week of October 24

As announced previously, movers will be on campus the week of October 24. They will be moving the Juvenile Collection to the 2nd floor of McKeldin. The Catalog will indicate the new location.

The majority of the Juvenile Historical collection will be transferred into Special Collections. Items from the Juvenile Historical collection that do not fit the collecting scope of Special Collections (e.g., published post-1940, reprints, anthologies) will be moved to Maryland Off-Site Shelving (MOSS) for greater security. Patrons will be able to use the Request feature in the Catalog to have titles delivered to campus for use.

While the movers are here, the Collections Subcommittee has decided to ask that they also bring the microform materials and cabinets to McKeldin so the microforms will be in close proximity to the necessary equipment sooner rather than later. While materials are shifted in our cabinets to make space for interfiling, the Catalog will direct patrons to inquire at the McKeldin Periodicals Desk for these items.
