Digital Reference Committee
Charge
The charge of the Digital Reference Committee is as follows:
- Consult with students, faculty, departments, and staff to determine need for and interest in digital reference (including chat and email) service at the University of Maryland Libraries.
- Seek suggestions from students, faculty, departments, and staff about ways to change/improve the digital reference services we are currently offering. Evaluate services currently available and recommend changes and next steps where appropriate for the
Libraries.
- Evaluate use and develop training programs for staff.
- Develop best practices for Digital Reference at the UM Libraries. Set priorities in providing the service as the demand for service expands.
- Present reports and recommendations to the IRS-Team and the staff of the libraries.
