Digital Reference Committee

Charge

The charge of the Digital Reference Committee is as follows:

1. Consult with students, faculty, departments, and staff to determine need for and interest in digital reference (including chat and email) service at the University of Maryland Libraries.
2. Seek suggestions from students, faculty, departments, and staff about ways to change/improve the digital reference services we are currently offering. Evaluate services currently available and recommend changes and next steps where appropriate for the Libraries.
3. Evaluate use and develop training programs for staff.
4. Develop best practices for Digital Reference at the UM Libraries. Set priorities in providing the service as the demand for service expands.
5. Present reports and recommendations to the IRS-Team and the staff of the libraries.
