Adjustments to agenda: a topic on OpenWorldCat was added.
Topic 1: Committee membership
The group will offer member ship to Nedelina Tchangalova and will review any additional applications at the January meeting. The group will also invite GA Terry Darr to attend meetings for a semester.
Topic 2: Maryland Ask Us Now Liaison meeting
Stahl reported that UM's proposed changes to the queues were presented at the last liaison meeting and were well-received. They are awaiting the State Librarian's approval. The switch to the new software will occur in the Spring and a pilot will be available for practice.
Topic 3: VRD conference
The VRD conference in November 2005 will probably be the last because it is no longer receiving funding. Its content will probably be rolled into ALA or other conferences. Stahl attended an interesting session on "netspeak", presented by two librarians from UMUC. She will pursue scheduling the UMUC librarians to do their presentation for UM in the Spring.
Topic 4: Report to IRS-T on 2006 activities for Dig Ref Committee
IRS-T reviewed the list of items at their last meeting. One issue added to the list was the task of managing the services. Dig Ref will add this topic to its January agenda and discuss ways of delegating the various management tasks.
Topic 5: New P4P from wireless service
See Todd's email of 12/12/05. Todd described the new service allowing wireless users to print to any library pay-for-print stations, including color printers. Full instructions should be available by Dec. 15th.
Topic 6: Open WorldCat
The Question Point email queue is receiving questions from Open WorldCat. Todd requested we track questions and monitor the types of requests we receive.
