Workstation Settings for OCLC's Flash Chat software

Computers must have:

• Flash 7 or newer installed
• Internet Explorer 6.0 or newer
• Sun Java 1.4 or higher *OR* Microsoft Java Virtual Machine
• Pop up blockers turned off

Recommended for your computer:

• Set your screen resolution to higher than 800x600

Browser Setup: Temporary Internet Files & Cookies

1. Open an IE browser
2. Click on Tools/Internet Options.
3. Select the General tab. Click on "Settings" under the heading "Browser History."
4. Click "Every time I visit the webpage." On the same screen, make sure the disk space setting is 50 MB. Click OK.
5. Return to Internet Options and select the Privacy tab.
6. Under "Pop-up Blocker," de-select "Turn on Pop-up Blocker." Click Apply.
7. Still on the Privacy tab, click on Advanced and select "Override automatic cookie handling." Click OK.
8. Select "Always allow session cookies." Click OK.
9. Click OK on the main Internet Options menu.
