By sharing the personal stories of gays in developing nations, the film documents an emerging global movement to end discrimination and violence against gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered people.

Film: The Celluloid Closet (101 minutes)
Footage from over 120 films shows the changing face of homosexuality (both male and female) in motion pictures from cruel stereotypes to covert love to the activist triumphs of the 1990s. Many actors, writers and commentators provide anecdotes regarding the history of the role of gay men and lesbians in the movies.

Both of these films will run in their entirety on Nonprint Media Services Library’s Dial Access system, beginning Monday, Nov 20 through Sunday, Dec. 3 (Please call Nonprint Media Services Library at 5-9236 for Dial Access scheduling information).
