Desktop Services Committee
Mission
Generate and maintain collaboration between the Libraries staff and the Information Technology Division’s LAN and User Services Team on matters pertaining to desktop services.

Charge
Under ITD leadership, generate collaboration between the Libraries staff and the LAN and User Services Team on matters pertaining to desktop services including:
- Facilitating communication between ITD and the Libraries staff;
- Determining the short-term and long-term desktop hardware/software needs of the library community;
- Collaborating on hardware, software and service implementation projects;
- Recommending policies and procedures governing requests, evaluation, procurement, installation, and maintenance of software and hardware;
- Identifying problems and/or areas of concern and recommending solutions to LEC.
The nine members of this committee are expected to approach their duties from a macro-oriented library-wide perspective while serving as an information conduit to and from their divisions. CMSCD, PASD and TSD will provide one member each. PSD will provide three members with one member from a subject team, one from a public service site, and one at-large member. The committee will elect a co-chair. All members will be required to commit time beyond the conference room by working on individual assignments or in working groups.
