Responsibilities of Points-of-Contacts (POCs) for the Desktop Services Committee (DSC)

  1. Serve as primary line of communication between ITD, DSC, and the staff within their units concerning workstation-related information and activities – e.g. mass upgrades in equipment or software, virus problems, maintenance, etc.
  2. Keep track of computer needs and assist in facilitating changes or additions to computer stations within their units in coordination with their DSC member and ITD.
  3. Be aware of recurring computer problems within their units and inform their DSC member of such problems. Assist in following-up with ITD resolutions of such problems.
  4. Maintain a copy of workstation inventory within their units and report inaccuracy/discrepancy to ITD.
  5. Participate in workstation related training programs; serve as trainers within their units when needed.
  6. Engage in continuous learning in computer technology, share relevant information with other POCs, DSC, and staff in general.
